Customer Reviews

I Nevertheless appreciate this watch. I wear it every single day. It keeps perfect time. The solar powered feature is extraordinary. I actually like not having to be concerned about the battery dying. It is heavy enough that it is sturdy but not so heavy as to be annoying. I had to have a couple of links removed so keep that in thoughts when you order. Any watch dealer will be able to eliminate the links but I consider most persons will need to have that accomplished to make it wearable. Just after five years of abuse, the face is nevertheless scratch no cost. The band shows some wear but thinking about that I have under no circumstances been gentle on it, I'm impressed with how nicely it is held up. I am ordering a new Citizen watch these days just to have some selection, but I am certain this watch will nonetheless be my day to day watch. Order with self-confidence.
Update: two far more years of every day use and it's nonetheless going robust. It keeps fantastic time and is as solid as ever. Most likely the most beneficial watch I have ever bought.

I've had this watch for about three or so years. For reference, I am a college student, which means I've been fairly rough on this watch. It stays on my wrist when I am moving in and moving out. I've also been wearing this watch pretty considerably just about every day without fail.
Just after about 3 years of wear, it has some scratches and little chips in the watch face (rather annoying). I have no difficulty reading the time, but the scratches are most surely there. The metal band has gotten really worn in a "I'm not truly studying your watch, but can tell your watch has seen some far better days" kind of way. Point of this element of the critique, is that the watch will see wear if you wear it. I haven't completed anything to make it shinier or something like taking it in to a jeweler's, but it's absolutely nothing that a uncomplicated take a look at wouldn't fix. Final note, this watch has seen its share of water (tap, pool, ocean), but no water harm whatsoever.
That being stated, in spite of its pretty minor aesthetic flaws, it's been a trustworthy watch. Hasn't failed me on the time. Do not have to worry about batteries. Never ever an concern of "creating confident my watch gets adequate light." It will get light. Unless you reside in a bat cave, eternally. I would go with an Eco Drive once again. It really is incredibly effortless, which is why this watch gets 4 stars.
Accurate, it is a tiny annoying that the calendar day is off on the non 31 day months, and the day sometimes gets off (switches over at noon rather of midnight) if you switch time zones and need to have to adjust the time. But all in all, these are really genuinely minor specifics, and just come with getting a watch that spells out the day of the week and the day of the month for you. (It's truly good getting the day of the week and the day of the month on your wrist if you are as forgetful as I am.)

Customer Critiques

I have owned this watch for two weeks now. Adore it so far. A note of caution then again, the images that you see on Amazon are not extremely correct. The watch basically is extra shiny compared to what you see on the picture. The pics will make you think that the watch has a matte finish, that is not the case. This nonetheless has not changed my positive opinion about the watch.

The watch is amazing.. I enjoy it, my pals really like it, and its not also big as the other critiques has recommended. By wrist is of usual size and i assume it fits perfectly. My only complain would be that the chronograph hand ticks instead of moving at a steady speed. This can pose a trouble if you plan to use the tachymeter as you might possibly not get correct readings. Other than that I really like the watch.

Consumer Evaluations

I thought this watch looked beneficial in the on the internet photos, but when you open the box it is absolutely beautiful! I have had a gold tone men's Seiko watch with a black face for at least fifteen years, but the course of action of getting to replace batteries every single year had resulted in some loss of integrity to the case seal and I decided it was time to replace it. This a single appealed to me considering that of the kinetic function, as well as appearance and also presently offered at a incredibly fantastic price (I paid $216). The clear case back permits you to see the pendulum that spins to recharge the kinetic power cell, and that looks quite cool! Both the case and band are coated with a TiCN material that looks like polished black ceramic, absolutely beautiful in contrast with the gold bezel. I just hope it lasts as lengthy as my previous Seiko...

My wife and youngsters got this for me as a birthday present. I haven't worn a dress watch much in years. I got made use of to using a Timex Ironman for operating and the damned points are so inexpensive, accurate, rugged, and functional I just stopped using anything else. I have a Casio Pathfinder with altimeter, temp, and compass but that thing is so huge I wonder what the hell I was thinking when I bought it. And I will admit there are times when a watch with a plastic band and case are not the most beneficial option. I also have an ultra thin Seiko rectangular dress watch with a leather band from the mid-eighties that is nonetheless operating like new. So, when I mentioned a dress watch, my wife thought Seiko initially. I bought her a Seiko Black Ion finish watch at Christmas to go with a set of black pearl earrings and necklace. So she bought me this watch to match six months later. I think the Seiko Kinetic is especially cool. You get the accuracy and toughness of a quartz movement (which Seiko does really nicely) combined with a "self winding" function with no the complex mechanical components of swiss watches. And the Seiko method can store adequate power for six months of operation in its lithium cell. Try that with a Rolex.
The watch came out of the box with the minimal 1-7 day charge on the indicator. After two days, it reached the 1 month charge level. Soon after about a week, it nevertheless hasn't reached the top rated level four-6 month charge. Not negative. About what I expected. As for the finish, I adore the black n gold style. It's a bit diverse from your run of the mill stainless or gold style. I did a little investigation on the Titanium Carbon Nitride finish and discovered that this stuff is what they use to coat high speed cutting tools for exceptionally tough supplies. Titanium Nitride comes produces a metallic "gold" color. Adding carbon to the mix turns Titanium Carbon Nitride into a ceramic coating with extreme hardness relative to the stainless steel substrate it's applied to. To me, a ceramic coating indicates this watch will be especially resistant to oxidation and scratching as nicely as one of a kind in appearance. The black n gold may possibly be a little too flashy or over the best for some many people or occasions but for general wear at company functions or going out to dinner, I feel it really is sharp seeking. I genuinely can not recognize why consumers obtain Rolex with Seiko about. Extremely advised. The provider and the watch.

Client Reviews

Disclaimer: I do not own this watch (however) but I have read a quantity of posts here and elsewhere pondering "what makes this a golf watch", so I thought I would assist shed some light for the people out there. As I do not own it, I gave it 5 stars merely in an work to be fair, even though I do own very a couple of Citizen watches in this price tag range, and really feel comfortable that the watch will be of quite high develop good quality for this price tag point.
"What makes this a "golf watch"?"
It is deemed a golf watch considering that the crown is engineered on the opposite side of the case (the left). As most watches are created for right handed individuals, and subsequently meant to be worn on the left wrist (the "proper" way to wear a watch is normally on the opposit of your strong hand, so when drinking coffee, or writing, or whatever else, you can check the time with out issues.) Therefore, crowns are generally on the appropriate, for straightforward setting. In short, the most standard feature of any golf watch is that the crown is on the opposite side of the case than it commonly would be, thereby preventing it from digging into the top rated of your hand/wrist when you swing. Hope this clarifies factors :)

Various consumers have asked me, what tends to make this a golf watch? To which my replies have varied from `Well duh! It's got golf written on the dial' to `the calendar only goes up to 18'. Seriously, even though, it's a valid question and the obvious answer is that just about any watch can be worn on the course though countless do not wear a watch at all due to the fact it really is distracting. The citizen eco drive golf watch has incorporated a handful of nice functions to preserve the distractions to a minimum namely getting the crown on the opposite (left) side of the watch, creating it out of highly light titanium, and the silicon band that keeps it from slipping.
Though I've only had a single round of golf with this watch, I seriously like these characteristics and did not notice the watch at all for the duration of my swing. I typically play with a watch but not one particular that's loose or bulky. The design is very good and it would work equally nicely on the course or just as an everyday watch.
Pros: Nice appear and feel with a `golfy' dimpled pattern on each the face and strap. Light and slim with a pretty good fitting band. The opposite side crown could be a bit of a novelty but it unquestionably does not get in the road.
Cons: the band has to be cut to fit so make positive it is performed ideal the first time because there's no going back. May well also be a challenge if you acquire weight (on your wrist) or want to pass it on. I have yet to see any replacement straps on amazon or elsewhere.
In conclusion, a genuinely nice watch but it really is not going to strengthen your game. But at least you will appear superior when you miss that 3 footer on the 18th.

The Casio Story
With the launch of its very first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market place at a time when the watch sector had just discovered digital technology. As a business with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could create timepieces that would lead the market.
In producing its own wristwatches Casio began with the standard question, ""What is a wristwatch?"" Rather than simply creating a digital version of the conventional mechanical watch, we believed that the excellent wristwatch should be one thing that shows all facets of time in a consistent way. Based on this, Casio was able to generate a watch that displayed the precise time such as the second, minute, hour, day, and month — not to mention a.m. or p.m., and the day of the week. It was the initially watch in the planet with a digital automatic calendar function that eliminated the have to have to reset the calendar due the variation in month length. Rather than applying a traditional watch face and hands, a digital liquid crystal display was adopted to far better show all the specifics. This culminated in the 1974 launch of the CASIOTRON, the world’s very first digital watch with automatic calendar. The CASIOTRON won acclaim as a groundbreaking product that represented a full departure from the traditional wristwatch.
Casio transformed the concept of the watch — from a mere timepiece to an information and facts device for the wrist — and undertook item preparing based on this innovative thought. We developed not only time functions such as worldwide time zone watches, but also other radical new functions making use of Casio’s personal digital technologies, including calculator and dictionary functions, as nicely as a phonebook feature based on memory technologies, and even a thermometer function making use of a built-in sensor. The memory-function watches became our Information BANK item series, even though the sensor watches created into two one of a kind Casio product lines of right now: the Pathfinder series displaying altitude, atmospheric pressure, and compass readings.
In 1983, Casio launched the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch. This product shattered the notion that a watch is a fragile piece of jewelry that wants to be handled with care, and was the result of Casio engineers taking on the challenge of producing the world’s toughest watch. Utilizing a triple-protection style for the parts, module, and case, the G-SHOCK offered a radical new type of watch that was unaffected by strong impacts or shaking. Its practicality was quickly recognized, and its distinctive appear, which embodied its functionality, became wildly common, resulting in explosive sales in the early 1990s. The G-SHOCK soon adopted many new sensors, solar-powered radio-controlled technology (described below), and new materials for even far better durability. By continually employing the most current technologies, and continuing to transcend standard thinking about the watch, the G-SHOCK brand has turn into Casio’s flagship timepiece product.
At this time, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, and the radio-controlled function indicates users under no circumstances have to reset the time. In certain, the radio-controlled function represents a revolution in time-keeping technology related to the impact produced when mechanical watches gave way to quartz technologies. Through the additional development of high radio-wave sensitivity, miniaturization, and enhanced energy efficiency, Casio continues to generate a complete range of radio-controlled models.

Customer Evaluations

This watch is an superb each and every day watch for someone who wants an reasonably priced watch that they can wear to operate or to the park. With its chronograph styling, dark resin band, and classic sizing (I feel it is ~38mm diameter and not also thick, even though as I lately lost mine I can't be positive), it absolutely will give the impression that you are wearing a significantly more pricey watch. When I utilised to wear it, I got compliments on it all the time and cost estimates in the hundreds =D.
Nonetheless, do not be fooled by the "multifunction watch" title. The sub-dials show day/date/24-hour time, and that's it--no dual time, no stopwatch, it is not a digital watch replacement. The second markings aren't clear or accurate enough for you to seriously time anything. This was mainly fine for me but I located myself occasionally missing those functions. What I personally identified most annoying, nonetheless, was the choice of mineral crystal as the watch window material, a poor compromise amongst acrylic and sapphire glass. Harder than acrylic, but way softer than sapphire, it nonetheless scratches fairly effortlessly for a "beater" watch but you don't have the option of very easily buffing it out.

It is a multifunction watch, but as multifunction as people think it is. It does have Date/time and a 24 hour clock, and to truthful that is honestly all I will need. I was seeking for a watch that affordable and analog, and this is what I picked up. Plus, it glows in the dark. No longer require to ask what time it is, or what the date is (maybe the month and year, if you time traveled from the future).

Consumer Reviews

I've had this watch for about a week and could not be happier. It is a decent size. Not too huge or also small. It really is also not also thick, so my function shirts can slide more than it without difficulty, as opposed to some of the larger dress watches and chronographs. The style is on the dressy side. So it works nicely to wear at work. But I've also worn it out at night and on weekends so it can survive in a casual environment too. At this price point, I haven't identified 1 that's much better. Ideally, I would have bought a watch that had greater water proofing -- this one is just water resistant -- but that's a minor problem and I knew it when I bought.

There is no question about Citizen and the distinction of their watches. The Eco-Drive watches that Citizen has made over the years, have been some of the most timeless and classic watches that have ever been produced. For guys, they have been classic. This one is the classic Black Leather AU1040-08E Man's Strap watch is a effortless and sophisticated watch that works well, just like a everday leather-strapped watch in a solar quartz movement. The watch features a classic movement, effortless to setup date window, and basic time to setup. But, there is completely no second hand on the watch. Nonetheless, the illumination on the watch looks extraordinary from the hands. Nonetheless, if you want a classic watch from Citizen, this is a single to absolutely try out.
